GPA
To remain on scholarship, Emerging Leaders must maintain a 2.500 cumulative GPA. Determinations are made at the end of the spring term.
Credit Hours
Emerging Leaders must enroll full-time (at least 12 credit hours) during the fall and spring terms. These hours must be officially registered by the 6th day of classes each semester.
In addition, Emerging Leaders must successfully complete 24 credit hours each academic year (fall and spring terms). Repeated courses will only count once.
If the recipient withdraws from school or fails to register for consecutive semesters, the scholarship will be discontinued.
Emerging Leaders Program
Emerging Leader Scholars participate in the Emerging Leaders retention program. To remain eligible for scholarship renewal, Emerging Leaders must successfully complete the Emerging Leaders Program (see Course Requirements).
Students receiving the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation Scholarship or participating in the following programs are not required to participate in the Emerging Leaders Program--Multicultural Engineering Program, Women in Engineering, Kiewit Scholars, PKF Engineering Academy, Raikes, or Inclusive Business Leaders.
Renewability
The Nebraska Emerging Leaders Scholarship is renewable for an additional three academic years provided renewal criteria is met.
