Transfer Student Resources

The CAST POWER Transfer Track

The CAST POWER Program is an opportunity for Huskers to begin Fall 2026 with built-in support, connection, and community. The Transfer Track recognizes and builds upon the experiences, strengths, and perspectives students bring from their previous institutions. Rather than starting over, participants are encouraged to use those experiences as a foundation for success at UNL.

The Four-Day Foundational Event begins with students moving to campus early on August 16 and start building connections before the semester starts. Led by Transfer Peer Mentors, participants will explore campus, learn about key resources and services, and connect with fellow transfer students through activities designed to create community and confidence. The experience is intentionally designed to make the transition to UNL feel more manageable, welcoming, and impactful from day one.

Transfer students are also invited to participate in a 12-week CAST POWER seminar. This free, 0-credit course taking place on Thursdays from 1:30-2:20 PM will provide ongoing support for transfer students. Meeting once a week in a homeroom-style setting, the seminar creates space for transfer students to reflect on their experiences, explore their sense of belonging and place at UNL, and build meaningful connections with peers and staff. Students will be encouraged to ask questions, think critically about their goals, navigate challenges, and develop strategies that support both academic and personal success as they establish themselves within the UNL community.

Ready to register for the seminar? Transfer students can add UGEP 120 section 70 to their course schedule through MyRed. For assistance registering or building a schedule with this course included, we encourage you to reach out to your academic advisor.
