Of all the jobs you could have on campus, what made you want to be a Peer Mentor?
Although I was excited to come as an out-of-state transfer student, I was nervous due to the lack of connections to people and knowledge of the university. But I came to love it very quickly; a big portion is due to the awesome CAST Transfer class, my transfer peer mentors, and the CAST office. I wanted to be a part of it, so I could help students come to love UNL as much as I do <3
If you could learn any skill or craft instantly, what would it be?
Gymnastics, Ice Skating, and Dance! Everyone who does them has so much talent and has worked so hard.
I love watching gymnastics and ice skating at the Olympics; it has got to be close to what flying feels like, with the flips and jumps. Although there are some dance elements in both, I just think dancers are so cool. It combines activity, creativity, and music - my favourite things.
What's one thing on your bucket list you know you'll cross off some day?
To be able to speak (at least) five languages! I speak English and Spanish fluently, I am currently working on French, and I plan to learn two character-based languages.
What's your favorite way to de-stress or relax during busy times?
I love to be active or creative, ranging from working out or going on a long walk on campus, to painting or crocheting while watching a show!
If your life had a soundtrack, what is your theme song?
Sound by The 1975
You just won an all-expenses paid vacation. Where would you go?
Australia! When I was little, I was obsessed with Finding Nemo, which played a part in it, but I also just think it would be so cool! I love the beach and animals, so I would love to scuba dive in the Great Barrier Reef and go to the Australia Zoo.
What's your favorite place on campus‚ and why?
My favorite places on campus are the basement of the Union or the Newman Center! Both of them have a lot of different areas where you can study, whether you want something quiet and low-key or something a little louder with the potential for conversations!
What's your go-to comfort food or guilty pleasure snack?
Peanut Butter and Jelly on a Toasted English Muffin
What's one thing you wish you had known before starting college?
If you took classes in high school and will be taking them again in college, they WILL be different, and it's okay!
