What is one thing you wish someone had told you before your first semester at Nebraska?
I wish someone had told me that it’s okay not to have everything figured out right away. College is a huge adjustment, and everyone is trying to find their place. Getting involved, meeting new people, and asking for help when you need it makes the transition much easier.
What is your go-to way to reset during a stressful week?
My go-to reset is taking some time away from schoolwork and doing something I enjoy, whether that’s golfing, spending time with friends, going for a walk, or just watching a favorite show. Even a short break helps me come back feeling more focused and less overwhelmed.
What is one small habit that helps you stay on track?
I keep a running to-do list and check it every morning. Breaking larger assignments into smaller tasks helps me stay organized and prevents me from feeling overwhelmed when things get busy.
Where is your favorite place on campus to spend time and why?
My favorite place on campus is the Nebraska East Campus area. As an Animal Science major, I enjoy being around the agricultural facilities and green spaces. It feels a little quieter than City Campus and gives me a place to focus while still feeling connected to my major.
What is one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
People are often surprised to learn that I grew up on a cattle ranch in the Nebraska Sandhills. Between working cattle, helping during calving season, and spending my summers at a golf course, I’ve developed a love for both agriculture and golf that many people don’t expect when they first meet me.
