What is one thing you wish someone had told you before your first semester at Nebraska?

Before my first semester at UNL, I wish someone had told me that the big college campus seems a lot more intimidating than it really is. I was so nervous about finding my way around, making friends, and feeling connected to UNL as a whole. I quickly realized that everyone feels very much the same, and navigating college is very manageable, especially with all the resources available on campus.

What is your go-to way to reset during a stressful week?

To reset during a stressful week, I always visit my family. I'm very thankful to be from Lincoln, so my family is very close. A visit to my family's house is so relaxing after a long week of school and work, and I love being able to vent to my mom.

What is one small habit that helps you stay on track?

Putting everything in my calendar always keeps me on track. I put school, work, appointments, reminders, and even hang-outs with my friends on my calendar. This keeps me so much more organized, and it helps me designate free time so I don't always feel busy and overwhelmed.

Where is your favorite place on campus to spend time and why?

It's kind of a random location, but one of my favorite places on campus are the couches and chairs on either side of the entrance of Louise Pound Hall. I had two classes back to back in LPH first semester, and I spent a lot of time studying on those couches.

What is one thing people are surprised to learn about you?

I think people are often surprised to learn that I can be a bit of a nerd. I like a handful of video games, Minecraft and The Last of Us being my favorites. I watch YouTube more than I watch real shows and movies, and I love having long conversations with others where we can share our interests and I can keep on learning.
