Of all the jobs you could have on campus, what made you want to be a CAST Peer Mentor?

I was a Peer Mentor last year and it was an incredible experience. I was originally drawn to the position because I got so much out of the seminar when I was a student and I wanted to be a part of that for the incoming class. I loved forming a relationship with the students and even now some of my past mentees will stop and talk to me if we see each other on campus and it makes my day every time.

If you could learn any skill or craft instantly, what would it be?

Something I've been wanting to learn recently is sewing and to eventually be able to make some of my own clothes.

What’s one thing on your bucket list you know you’ll cross off some day?

Going to Australia, I would love to go as part of a research team one day to study the amazing wildlife they have there. But, even if that doesn't happen, I would still love to go for myself cause I think it's a beautiful country.

What's your favorite way to de-stress or relax during busy times?

My favorite way to take a break from everything is by putting on a show and working on whatever my current crochet project is. The repetitive motion is very calming and I always feel so accomplished when I complete it.

If your life had a soundtrack, what is your theme song?

"It's A Great Day To Be Alive" by Travis Tritt; this is my sunny day good vibes song and it always puts me in a great mood.

You just won an all-expenses paid vacation. Where would you go?

I would want to go either to Australia, Costa Rica, or Brazil

What’s your favorite place on campus—and why?

I love the Sheldon Museum, this is a place I don't visit as frequently as I would like to, but I recommend that everyone checks it at out at least once!

What's your go-to comfort food or guilty pleasure snack?

My go-to snack is ice cream from 402 Creamery (here in Lincoln) or from Coneflower Creamery (in Omaha).

What's one thing you wish you had known before starting college?

Listen to the people who've been through it. So many people told me how easy it is to start skipping and therefore get behind. With the new level of independence you get with college it's hard not to make that mistake, and it was definitely one that I finally had to learn the hard way.
